The Conference is dedicated to discussing conclusions and recommendations for the CIS, concerning three voluminous research themes of INDEUNIS Project (Industrial policy and restructurization; Trade restructuring, accession to WTO and policy of foreign direct investments, Economic integration to Europe).
INDEUNIS – international research project, coordinated by the Vienna Institute of international economic studies (WIIW, Austria) and the Institute of Economy RAS and financed by the European Commission out of budget for the 6th Framework program (6 WP) unites 10 research institutes from Austria, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine the employees of which carry out joint research of the experience, recently accumulated in such spheres as market transition, transformation in industry and integration both in new EU member states from Central Eastern Europe (NMS of the EU) as well as in individual CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova).
INDEUNIS project is the first large-scale study, having no analogues by number of participants, number of declared topics and submitted materials. This is the first project in the current sphere, financed by the European Commission.
The reports of the first stage of the project present the analysis of economy structure changes, trade (industrial) specialization, as well as the role of foreign direct investments in economic development of the aforesaid countries.
