The objective of the conference: Complex analysis of the new geopolitical situation Russia found itself in after the disintegration of the USSR, development of the guidelines for Russia’s economic and political cooperation with its neighbors.
The task of the conference: Through an open discussion, to reveal the participants’ opinions on a number of fundamental issues determining Russia’s position in the world, as well as its inner political development.
The major issues discussed at the conference:
- Russia’s foreign economic policy under globalization and growing intellectualization of global economic flows.
- The role of the neighboring countries in Russia’s geopolitical and geoeconomic strategy.
- The prospects of Russia’s combining its energy strategy with the switchover to an innovation-based diversified economy; opportunities for enhancing cooperation between Russia and its neighbors in science and technology, investment and joint enterprising.
- The CIS countries as an area of competing interests between Russia and other global poles.
A collection of research papers based on the outcomes of the conference is to be published. Full versions of the papers (up to 45,000 characters) will have to be submitted.
