Within the framework of the annual academic conference series "Russia in a Globalizing World", the the Institute of Economics (IE RAS) organized the international conference "Russia in the Multipolar World Configuration" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Department "The International Economic and Political Studies" (named the Institute of Economics of the World Socialist System before 1990) held on October 28-29, 2010 (Moscow, Presidium of the RAS, Leninsky avenue, 32a, Blue Hall). Objective of the conference was to provide comprehensive multi-level analysis of transformation processes in Russia and in the neighborhood belt countries, to work out principal directions of economic and political cooperation with neighbor states in the emerging multipolar world configuration. Major themes discussed at the conference:
Working languages of the conference – Russian, English. As participants of the conference representatives of legislative and executive authorities of the RF, international organizations and embassies of the foreign states in RF, research officers of profile academic institutions of RF, the CIS, Central and South-Eastern Europe, Eastern and South-Eastern Asia as well as mass media representatives were invited. As outcome of the conference publication of a set of research papers is scheduled. For accepted applications, full text versions of reports (up to 40,000 characters) shall be submitted to the Organizing committee by November 15, 2010.
